For example, the headphones can (finally) connect to two devices at a time - so you can connect them to your laptop and your phone at the same time, if you want to. The headphones offer some other great features that werenвЂ™t on offer by the previous-generation model. For starters, you can change the noise cancelation level, enable and disable the touch sensor, and enable and disable the Ambient Sound Control. There are plenty of features on offer in the app.

When you first get the headphones, youвЂ™ll want to download the Sony Connect app, which is where you can tweak the headphonesвЂ™ features. The design may be almost completely unchanged compared to the XM3 headphones - but the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones offer a few extra features that help make them even smarter than before. And it ensures the headphones remain light. TheyвЂ™re mostly built from plastic, but that plastic doesnвЂ™t really look or feel cheap. The headphones are much smaller and lighter than some of the competition - especially the AirPods Max. You may find yourself having to do it more than once. The double-tap feature makes sense, but it doesnвЂ™t always work. Swipe to the side for the next or previous track, and double-tap to play or pause. The WH-1000XM4 headphones take that much-loved XM3 design and comfort, and add in a tweaked sound profile and a number of smart new features. Recently, Sony upped the ante with the new Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones. The Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones were long considered the best noise-canceling headphones money could buy.

While the likes of Apple have started releasing their own models, companies like Sony and Bose continue to refine and develop their headphones. The world of noise-canceling headphones is getting increasingly competitive.
